Millry Telephone chooses ADTRAN for FTTN
JUNE 7, 2010 — ADTRAN Inc. (NASDAQ:ADTN) says that Millry Telephone, which serves southwest Alabama, has selected the Total Access 5000 Multi-Service Access and Aggregation Platform (MSAP) and the Total Access 1124P for its fiber-to-the-node (FTTN) deployments. “We were challenged with meeting the needs of an ever-growing bandwidth demand, while looking for a solution that would allow us to cost-effectively migrate our network to an Ethernet-based core that was better suited for next-generation services. When we evaluated the available solutions ADTRAN was the clear winner,” said Gene Brown, director of engineering, Millry Telephone. “The Total Access 5000 and Total Access 1124P gave us the right set of options to address our needs now and into the future. We can now push fiber deeper into our network to deliver high-bandwidth services with the FTTN architecture.” The Total Access 1124P functions as a node in the Total Access 5000 network for voice and data services. When deployed in conjunction with the Total Access 5000, it allows the Total Access 5000 to be used for both transport and core connectivity.
